First 30 Days With a Boxer Puppy (Setup, Routine, Wins)
TL;DR: Keep it simple: safe setup, predictable schedule, and tiny daily reps. You’ll build calm, confidence, and connection fast.

Before Day 1: Setup zones
- Crate station (quiet corner) + exercise pen
- Chew rotation (rubber, nylon, frozen Kong)
- Cleanup: enzyme cleaner, washable pads
Foldable Crate (Puppy Size)
Predictable naps lower arousal and speed potty training. It's always a good rule of thumb to take your pup out to potty every time they 1. have eaten, 2. after a play session, 3. drank water 4. gotten up from a nap.
Here is my recommended list for each week:
Week 1: Find your rhythm
Example day:
7:00 potty → breakfast → 5-min training
10:00 potty → 10-min play → crate nap
1:00 potty → lunch → chew in pen
3:00 potty → 10-min leash practice indoors
5:00 potty → dinner → 5-min “place”
8:00 last potty → bedtime
Week 2: Confidence reps
- 3–5 new exposures (car idling, umbrella, vet table)
- Hand target, recall in hallway, “leave it”
- Short carry-outs to people-watch, then home to decompress
Front-Clip Harness (Puppy)
Gentle guidance while leash skills develop.
Week 3: Structure + enrichment
- “Wait” for food/doors, toy release
- 10-min puzzle or sniff game after evening walk
- One calm visitor; reward four paws on the floor
Week 4: Gentle stretch
- Quiet park loops; reward check-ins
- Long-line recall games in safe areas
- Vet-handling practice (ears, paws, mouth) with treats
